After much deliberation I decided to let the Lehman Prop Desk Job in Hong Kong expire... I couldn't stand taking an early offer without even recruiting for NY jobs. Thankfully though, a contact I had helped me extend the HK offer and thus I could go into On Campus Recruiting (OCR) with a backup job, a really fuckin sweet backup job, a backup job that I would have taken over almost any other job I would have gotten... except for one.

This past week has been one of the longest of my life. Aside from having to wear the same suit over and over again (I only have one), skipping class, barely eating, NOT GOING TO THE GYM (!), and stressing about brain teasers and fucked up interview questions (e.g. Morgan Stanley, ick), I finally figured out my summer. Last night I travelled to NY after interviewing with Deustche Bank to interview with Bear Stearns and Credit Suisse this morning. Right after the dinner Credit Suisse had set up for us, I got a call while in a taxi back to my hotel that I got an offer to join Lehman Brothers as a Sales & Trading Intern. I had Lehman Final rounds that morning and wasn't sure if I had sealed the deal, so it was very relieving to hear the good news.

I subsequently went up to Columbia to celebrate with Michelle (my-ex) and her friends and had a blast with that crew. To all of Michelle's friends: you guys rock and thanks for being so friendly. Special shout-outs to Marcus, Joe, Helam, and sleazy Dan. I woke up this morning, withdrew from my other 14 interviews, and jumped on the next Acela back to Philly.

Yesterday night I celebrated with my ex-Girlfriend, tonight I will celebrate with my current girlfriend (Tina!). Yesterday morning I was questioning if Lehman HK might have been my best option, this morning I laid in bed knowing Lehman US was.

In the end, I'm very happy with my decision. The Lehman offer is 8 weeks but pays as if it were 10, with 2 wks of vacation at the end -- enough time for me to spend a month vacationing...

...maybe I'll go to Hong Kong? ;)
